Non-profit Organizations
1st global multilateral fund specifically dedicated to education for children in war zones, disasters & crises settings.
About us
Education Cannot Wait (ECW) is the global fund for education in emergencies and protracted crises. We support quality education outcomes for refugee, internally displaced and other crisis-affected girls and boys, so no one is left behind. ECW works through the multilateral system to both increase the speed of responses in crises and connect immediate relief and longer-term interventions through multi-year programming. ECW works in close partnership with governments, public and private donors, UN agencies, civil society organizations, and other humanitarian and development aid actors to increase efficiencies and end siloed responses. ECW urgently appeals to public and private sector donors for expanded support to reach even more vulnerable children and youth. ECW is administered under UNICEF’s financial, human resources and administrative rules and regulations; operations are run by the Fund’s own independent governance structure.

“Investing in #EiEPC is crucial to support children with disabilities. They must have access to a safe, #InclusiveEducation where they can get school meals, assistive devices, specialized support & the opportunity to learn alongside their peers. It's possible when the funding is there – we set targets, stick to our commitments & deliver with accountability.” ~ Yasmine Sherif 📍 #GlobalDisabilitySummit #CommitToChange Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ)

Fantastic News, thanks to Irish Aid and Minister Neale Richmond. Children facing humanitarian disasters often miss out on education, which has devastating long-term impacts. Ireland's support provides a lifeline, allowing these children to continue their education and build better lives. 🌟 World Vision Ireland is excited to support these efforts through our Education Cannot Wait (ECW) grant to support education in Myanmar. 🌍📚 #EducationCannotWait #WorldVisionIreland #SupportEducation #HumanitarianAid #BetterFuture
Ireland will provide additional support to help children in war zones and other crisis areas to receive education. Minister Neale Richmond today announced €6m in funding for Education Cannot Wait (ECW), the UN’s fund for providing education in humanitarian crisis. Announcing the funding, Minister Richmond said: “As well as having to cope with displacement and further poverty, children in parts of the world facing humanitarian crisis also lose their access to education. The long-term impacts of this are enormous. Without education, they and their families remain trapped in crisis and poverty. “Ireland’s support for Education Cannot Wait provides a life-line to children displaced by war or disaster. It allows them to continue their education and gives them the chance to build better lives. Educating one child can lift whole communities out of poverty. It is essential and that is why Ireland is so committed to supporting education around the world.” Read more: https://lnkd.in/e-EykDzW
